WvSG-Robotics - Masterpiece!

What a day!
This year, the young WvSG-Robotics team from Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium Gronau, led by Ms. Demming, won two trophies at the First Lego League competition ("Masterpiece" theme) at the ROSEN Innovations Center in Lingen, a robotics and research competition: 1st place in the "Research" category. WvSG-Robotics had come up with something very special to help people with aquaphobia, the fear of water. They developed ideas for VR goggles with which anxiety patients can "immerse" themselves in a virtual water world. The goggles are also designed to simulate various water smells and water noises in order to create a world of experience that is as realistic as possible without having to get into the water first. In order to appeal to all the senses of a person with aquaphobia, the team developed ideas for an appropriate suit that would enhance the feeling of water. The WvSG-Robotics cleverly packaged these ideas in an exciting "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire SPECIAL".
The second trophy was well deserved and went to Liv Günner in the "Coaching" category. Liv, who has grown more and more into coaching in recent years and has gained the trust of the team and especially the teacher through her convincing work in the AG, led the WvSG-Robotics safely through the competition day as expected. "I am particularly pleased that we were able to nominate Liv for the "Coaching" category despite her young age and that the jury in Lingen recognized her performance and rated her accordingly," said a delighted Ms Demming.
The WvSG-Robotics were also nominated for the best teamwork in the "Basic Values" category.

And nobody had expected that:
In the overall "Champion" category, WvSG-Robotics came second out of a total of 13 teams and thus qualified for the semi-finals in Aachen.

A true masterpiece! (Dmg)
