The aim of the project is to prepare pupils for a responsible social and political life and to promote their ability to deal with controversial issues objectively, respectfully and convincingly.
In two semi-final debates on the question "Should pupils clean their school themselves?" and a final debate on the question "Should compulsory service be introduced for young people?", the participants impressed with their clear positions, well-founded arguments and fair, respectful interaction with one another. Maximilian Fortkamp, who took first place, and Noah Feldhues in second place were particularly impressive in the final. Paul Kernebeck took third place and Lia Hinkelmann came fourth.
Maximilian Fortkamp and Noah Feldhues will represent our school at the regional competition on February 18, which will also take place at our school and where the best debaters from the surrounding schools will compete against each other. We are keeping our fingers crossed for both of them for the regional competition!" (Hse)
