Reading competition 2024

Reading Competition revisited ...

In the first round, the students impressed with their prepared textbook texts, which were read aloud with good volume, appropriate speed, often impressive intonation and almost always without mistakes. The jury, consisting of trainee teacher Karina Jansen, Rahel Bozkurt, Eva Oberkalkofen and Pelin Turan from Q1 as well as Ms. Holthaus and Ms. Nolte, were "impressed".

The second round was a "next level" challenge. Here, unknown texts in English had to be read out spontaneously according to the same strict criteria as in round 1.

Rojin Atas won the 5th grade competition ahead of Josefine Heinrichs. Ela Degismis was fully convincing in the 6th grade. Fatima Abbas was hot on her heels, however. In the 7th grade, the boys came out on top. Ahmad Diallo won ahead of Maximillian Fortkamp. The competition was rounded off by the victory of Elif Güleryüz ahead of Eline Nunez Ordonez in the 8s.

Congratulations again to all 1st and 2nd place winners. Great performance!

The Reading Champion mugs (for those in the know: Reading Champion Mugs), English reading materials and English sweets were well received again this year. We would like to thank the school's support association for sponsoring the prizes. (Nol)
